Biography

Kristie Winslow is a nonprofit leader and storyteller with a background in writing, ASL interpretation, and development. She currently serves as Development Director at Project Apis m., where she advances strategic communications and fundraising initiatives in support of honey bee health and agricultural sustainability. Kristie’s multidisciplinary approach weaves together expertise in fundraising, relationship building, accessibility, and communications to connect communities with mission-driven impact.


Fluent in American Sign Language, Kristie is a CODA (Child of Deaf Adults) and has been signing her entire life. She holds a BEI I certification with a DeafBlind endorsement and brings eight years of professional interpreting experience in community and educational settings.


A graduate of Grand Valley State University with a Bachelor’s degree in Writing and English Language and Literature, Kristie earned distinctions in creative scholarship as both a McNair Scholar and Library Summer Scholar, presenting research on storytelling, myth, and cultural narratives.


Outside of her professional work, Kristie tends a small homestead with bees and chickens, makes homemade jam, dotes on her cat Ransom, collects more books than shelves can hold, and is a proud parent of two active teenagers.
